COVID, Loneliness, Community Action

On Thursday 21st January from 1-3pm on zoom we held a peer support session for community helpers. The theme was COVID, Loneliness and Community Action.

We heard from 5 people each sharing their experiences of different communities and how they have reached and supported people to help them deal with COVID lockdown and isolation.

We looked at the Community Organising framework to help us think about what action we can take together.

We are planning a follow up session in March 2021.

You can read the notes here.

Bring your cuppa and chat on the virtual friendly bench!

In the winter months we are making a safe friendly place to get together online, in the short dark days of January.

Under One Roof is a community heritage project based in and around St Mark’s Church in Shelton, Stoke on Trent. Every one has a history and we love to hear it!

If you want some company, chance to chat, see some smiling faces, and find out about the Under One Roof project, just pop in. No need to stay for an hour, just come and say hello!

The Friendly Bench is on zoom in January on four dates:

• Sunday 10th January 4-5pm

• Sunday 17th January 4-5pm

• Thursday 21st January 11am-12noon

• Thursday 28th January 11am-12noon

Please book, using eventbrite so we can send you the link to the zoom meetings. We have to do this so we know who is coming. This helps us make the Friendly Bench safe and welcoming.

Let us know if there is anything we can do to help you take part in the meeting on zoom. Email under1roofstmarks@gmail.com or phone Lynne 0751 881 3131
