Stoke-on-Trent Community Share Network 24th Feb 2021

On 24h February 2021 Totally Stoked and All the Small Things CIC hosted a connect and share event on zoom for Voluntary Organisations and Community Groups in Stoke on Trent.

This collaborative event was an opportunity to meet with and be inspired by creative people, organisers, social activists and volunteers from other local organisations engaging ways.

We had several guest speakers from varying organisations and projects who came to discuss their creative practices. Joining us was:

  • Rebecca Davies from The Portland Inn Project
  • Nicola Winstanley from Voluntary Arts England
  • The Women’s Peacemakers Project from Shelton, Cobridge and Normacot
  • Anne Kinnaird from Letting in the Light/Festival Stoke
  • Kat Boon from Appetite

Stoke-on-Trent Community Share Network 20th Jan 2021 – resources

On 20th January 2021 we met online to connect and share information, skills and resources, and build a mutual support network in Stoke on Trent.

Totally Stoked and All the Small Things CIC hosted a connect and share event for Voluntary Organisations and Community Groups in Stoke on Trent. This event was about funding and income generation.

  • Got to know each other
  • Talked about challenges and successes
  • Exchanged know-how and resources (skills, experience and information)
  • Learned from each other
  • Thought about how we can collaborate and not compete
  • Watched two funder presentations and asked them questions

Bring your cuppa and chat on the virtual friendly bench!

In the winter months we are making a safe friendly place to get together online, in the short dark days of January.

Under One Roof is a community heritage project based in and around St Mark’s Church in Shelton, Stoke on Trent. Every one has a history and we love to hear it!

If you want some company, chance to chat, see some smiling faces, and find out about the Under One Roof project, just pop in. No need to stay for an hour, just come and say hello!

The Friendly Bench is on zoom in January on four dates:

• Sunday 10th January 4-5pm

• Sunday 17th January 4-5pm

• Thursday 21st January 11am-12noon

• Thursday 28th January 11am-12noon

Please book, using eventbrite so we can send you the link to the zoom meetings. We have to do this so we know who is coming. This helps us make the Friendly Bench safe and welcoming.

Join us on Wednesday 20th January from 9.45am to 1pm on Zoom online.

At the workshop we will:-

  • Get to know each other
  • Talk about challenges and successes
  • Exchange know-how and resources (skills, experience and information)
  • Learn from each other
  • Explore the potential for a city wide mutual support Network
  • Think about how we can collaborate and not compete.

There will be three speakers who will be talking about funding opportunities and sharing stories and tips for successful income generation.

The event will enable us to identify shared interests, concerns and resources and ideas for future network development.

The aim is to strengthen the networks in the city, building on collaboration that has increased during the pandemic.

Anyone who is working (paid or unpaid) in communities in the city is welcome.
